Education: Language Schools abroad (ELCS)
British Summer School offers 6 innovative, inspiring, and academic challenging English language courses for international students aged from 6 to 20 years old.
Courses take place in 4 carefully selected boarding school and university campus locations and offer from between 17½ to 25 hours of tuition per week.
All courses include a progressive and developmental learning syllabus that is based on 21st Century Skills, focussing specifically on developing the 4 Cs (collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and communication) in addition to improving English skills.
British Summer School offers a fully inclusive recreational programme that includes a choice of different sports and activities every day. If students prefer to specialise in 1 sport for the whole week, they can take a Pro Option in Football, Golf, Hip Hop Dance, Horse Riding, Music or Tennis.
For students wishing to gain an official qualification, we offer several English language exams such as the Cambridge B1, B2 and C1 and the IELTS exam.
All courses feature a unique and bespoke True Me programme during which students participate in a series of fun, interactive and sociable challenges designed to increase their confidence and authenticity. This helps them to build more natural, genuine, and positive relationships in the future.
The residential course fee is fully inclusive of all tuition, multi-sports, True Me, accommodation, meals, transfers, cultural programme, and travel insurance.
ECS Scotland is a family-run English language training centre based in Edinburgh. We have been successfully providing professional English language courses to adults for 20 years, 1995 – 2015. Our General English courses have a maximum of 5 students per group and focus on speaking and listening communication skills. Small group General English classes can be combined with 1-to-1 classes focusing on on your line of work; business, marketing, law, finance, medicine, tourism, history, environmental science. Our tailor-made courses can adapt to your needs. All courses include an afternoon excursion to a place of cultural interest inside or outside of Edinburgh. Tea and coffee is provided during break times so clients can talk to each other and practise socialising informally in English. Accommodation is available in executive homestay which means you live with a local host but you have the privacy of a private bedroom and bathroom. We recommend staying with a local host as it gives your the best opportunity to speak English and socialise outside the classroom. Our hosts are used to hosting mature guests and have worked with us for many years. If you prefer to stay in a hotel, guest house or B&B, we can recommend suitable accommodation. Companies wishing to send 5 clients or more per year to learn professional English skills at ECS Scotland, should contact us directly to discuss discounts for low season courses.
