The Diversity is Key project was conceived by members of the Council of the British Chamber of commerce for Italy in early 2016 with the intent of promoting gender equality in business. Soon after the scope of the project was extended to include a wide range of diversities ranging from sexual orientation to age, from culture to ethnicity. Immediately the project obtained the support of UPS that provided the initial funding.
Soon after the HMA Christopher Prentice, offered the Endorsement of the British Embassy in Rome, later confirmed also by the newly appointed HMA Jill Morris. In the months that followed many other institutions, associations, groups companies and distinguished individuals engaged in the project contributing in various ways and thereby proving the extraordinary strength and versatility deriving from a diverse group of entities.
