Our future is destined to be filled with novelties and surprises. Predictions of the imminent take over by the Metaverse, the intangible, but very real NFTs, the shocking advancement and accessibility of generative AI are only a tiny portion of what we call innovation. When we think of innovation we must think of technology, but also processes and mindset. Change is omnipresent, continuous and inevitable, but it requires knowledge and vision to embrace Innovation as a tool for improving lives and overcoming challenges.

For several years The British Chamber of Commerce for Italy has chosen to focus on innovation as one of its four theme pillars.On 23 November 2023, starting at 9:00am, the Chamber will hold a conference on innovation with keynote speaker Indro Mukerjee, CEO at Innovate UK, the UK’s innovation agency.

Indro Mukerjee is CEO of Innovate UK, the UK’s innovation agency. He is a highly experienced technology CEO and business leader with a track record of leading innovation and technology commercialisation in businesses of all sizes across the world, from publicly listed and multinational corporations to new venture and private equity backed technology companies.
Indro has extensive experience of leading fast growth; start-up; spinouts; restructuring; turnaround and successful M&A. Much of his time was spent in Asia and the US.
With a strong personal interest in the development of skills for industry, he cofounded the UK Electronics Skills Foundation and served on the SEMTA (now Enginuity) board for nine years, where he was also chair of the committee managing their investment fund. He is also a passionate advocate for diversity, equality, and inclusion.
Indro has a degree in engineering science from University of Oxford, is a graduate of the Wharton Advanced Management Program and speaks several European languages.
Indro was elected as an Honorary Fellow of The Royal Academy of Engineering in September 2022.

We will also have the opportunity to hear from industry leaders and academicians who will guide us as we look beyond the sensational news and attempt to embrace innovation with fellow Chamber members and distiguished guests.

Presentata tradizionalmente al World Economic Forum di Davos e giunta alla sua 24esima edizione, il Trust Barometer è la prima indagine al mondo sul tema “Trust”, realizzata dalla società di comunicazione Edelman per misurare il grado di fiducia della popolazione nei confronti delle principali istituzioni (Business, Governi, Media e ONG) e per una chiave di lettura delle tendenze di lungo termine che stanno trasformando l’assetto della società.

Andrà in scena il prossimo 4 marzo 2024 alle ore 20.30 al Teatro San Babila di Milano l’evento teatrale e musicale organizzato da Soccorso Rosa Onlus, dedicato alla Prevenzione della Violenza contro le Donne, che vede la regia della cantante Lidia Schillaci e dell’Avvocato Armando Cecatiello, arrangiamenti a cura del maestro Fabrizio Lamberti.

Una serata speciale, presentata dalla vulcanica Justine Mattera, che vedrà la partecipazione straordinaria della cantante e autrice Lidia Schillaci, accompagnata al pianoforte dal maestro Fabrizio Lamberti.

L’evento, che unisce musica e teatro, è ispirato al libro “Adesso Basta – Istruzioni contro l’Abuso” opera scritta da Armando Cecatiello, Presidente di Soccorso Rosa Onlus, e si focalizzerà particolarmente sulla storia di Anna.

La voce di Anna sarà interpretata dall’Avvocato Graziella Ruspi, con un cameo dell’autore della storia e per l’occasione Lidia Schillaci presenterà un suo inedito molto sentito dal titolo “Non chiamarlo Amore”, che è anche il sottotitolo allo spettacolo, che sarà interpretato per la prima volta live.

Sarà un vero e proprio racconto musicale che tramite la musica e l’incredibile storia di Anna ci porterà a fare una profonda riflessione e ad emozionarci.

Come dichiara Lidia Schillaci: “Da donna e da artista sento molto il dovere di trattare argomenti che mettano in luce la nostra responsabilità civile. Sono onorata di far parte di questa nuova creazione, insieme ad Armando, Graziella e il maestro Lamberti, credo in tutte le donne e credo profondamente nel fatto che promuovere la prevenzione tramite l’arte, la musica e il teatro sia una carta vincente per far cambiare le cose e per dire a quelle donne che pensano di essere deboli che non sono sole”.

Come afferma l’Avvocato Cecatiello: “Lo spettacolo vuole essere un messaggio di speranza e di rinascita per tutte le donne che sono vittime di violenza. Nel mio libro, che è stato pubblicato dieci anni fa, ma è ancora attuale,  ho   raccontato delle storie vedendo donne che sono uscite dalla spirale della violenza. Lo spettacolo ha come fil rouge la storia di Anna una donna che per anni ha sofferto insieme ai suoi figli per le violenze del marito e che riesce a riscattarsi dalla violenza. Le donne spesso non si rendono conto della gravità delle violenze che subiscono, in alcune case le peggiori situazioni diventano la normalità. Da oltre venticinque anni mi occupo di separazioni e divorzi e posso dire che la violenza è trasversale e tocca tutte le classi sociali e culturali”.

 Come afferma, invece l’Avvocato Graziella Ruspi: “Credo molto in questo progetto, Anna è una di noi e noi tutte dobbiamo fare qualcosa perché la sua storia non si ripeta, ho prestato la mia voce ad Anna perché penso che anche uno spettacolo possa essere veicolo di un messaggio importante: dalla spirale della violenza si può uscire e tutti noi siamo responsabili per quello che succede alle donne, alle nostre figlie“.

La serata vede il patrocinio del Rotary Club Milano Nord Ovest e sottolinea l’importanza dell’impegno comune nella lotta contro la violenza di genere e riconosce l’importanza di iniziative come questa per sensibilizzare il pubblico e sostenere le attività di prevenzione e assistenza.

PETER TATE – Performer
Peter Tate was trained at Webber Douglas in London and with Stella Adler in New York, where he began his career. Credits there included The Bacchae directed by Michael Cacoyannis, on Broadway and Richard III with the American Shakespeare Company.
He returned to London to play a leading role at The National Theatre opposite Alan Bates. An invitation by the Actors Studio New York, brought him back to the US to play the co-lead, as Prince Felix Yussopov, in Rasputin opposite Peter Stormare, who was then Ingmar Bergman’s leading actor.
More recently played the lead in Tabloid Caligula at the Brits Off-Broadway at 59E59th St. Since then Macbeth, in Poland, with one of Polands top directors, Henryk Baranowski, Amrican Justice at The Arts (West End) Babylone (Coventry Belgrade).
At The Playground Theatre: Picasso: Le Monstre Sacré, Picasso, Paradise Circus, and Shylock in The Merchant of Venice directed by Bill Alexander and One Man written by Peter – which has been invited to Parliament.
Tate has won numerous awards for his stage version of Odd Man Out in Jerusalem, St Petersburg and Wroclaw. The film adaptation of Odd Man Out has garnered Peter numerous best actor awards at international film festivals.

Pablo Picasso, pseudonimo di Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno Maria de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso, ha rappresentato un modello trasgressivo, “mostruoso” per gli artisti contemporanei e per coloro le generazioni successive, lanciando nuovi generi pittorici, il cubismo primo fra tutto. Personaggio “dannato”, che si identifica con i suoi protagonisti: il Minotauro vecchio e cieco, fra le incarnazioni più esemplari.

Con tutta la forma bruta la J. Productions porta in scena lo spettacolo, in lingua inglese “Picasso – Le Mostre sacré”, martedì, 30 Aprile alle 20:00 al Filodrammatici di Milano: un ritratto viscerale e senza compromessi del pittore, perseguitato dalle sue ossessioni, spesso distruttive di tutto ciò e di coloro che professava di amare.

Magistralmente interpretato da Peter Tate, lo spettacolo traccia un ritratto inedito di Picasso, che in maniera (pre)potente e intelligente, difende se stesso e la sua reputazione. Al pubblico, eletto a giudice, l’ardua sentenza: la sua vita, la sua arte sono da condannare o perdonare? Lo spettacolo è co-adattato da Peter Tate e Guy Masterson dall’opera originale di Terry d’Alfonso.

On Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th May, FuoriConcorso returns to Lake Como, the event that allows you to admire the most beautiful and winning race cars built during the reign of Queen Elizabeth.

The historic Villa del Grumello and Villa Sucota will host an exhibition with more than 50 English race cars, which have been driven by drivers of the calibre of Emerson Fittipaldi, Mika Häkkinen, Niki Lauda, Rubens Barrichello, Graham Hill and Eddie Irvine.

A Formula 1 starting grid will also be created with 15 cars parked in the gardens of the villas, by the lake. Among the cars on display are the iconic Lotus 72, that won the Formula 1 World Championship in 1972 and the McLaren with which Mika Häkkinen won in 1999.

There will be many events and experiences: two cars presented as world premieres, photo exhibitions and the “Conversation Programs”, which are talks that will allow participants to meet drivers, engineers and prominent figures of the world of speed in person. In addition, Villa Sucota will be transformed into “Casa Aston Martin”, the historic English brand. Among the protagonists there will be also Lotus with the electric hypercar Evija and other excellences from the world, such as Gemballa, Pagani and Koenigsegg.

During the weekend there will be lots of music, tastings and entertainment as well, among greenery, art, historic villas, gardens and the glamour of Lake Como.
