To all Members of The British Chamber of Commerce for Italy
As our Annual General Meeting approaches, I write to you with a deep sense of gratitude and reflection, as my tenure as President of the British Chamber of Commerce for Italy draws to a close.
It has been the highest honour to serve in this role over the past four years — a period marked by profound transformation, resilience, and renewal. From the complexities of emerging from a global pandemic to embracing new frontiers in innovation, sustainability, and bilateral collaboration, the Chamber has remained resolute in its mission and dynamic in its endeavours.
Throughout this time, I have been continually inspired by the passion, professionalism, and unwavering commitment of our members. Together, we have celebrated the Chamber’s 120th anniversary, convened events of real substance and resonance, and reaffirmed our role as a trusted platform for dialogue and engagement between the United Kingdom and Italy.
I am deeply grateful to all those who have accompanied and supported this journey. Above all, I wish to extend my heartfelt thanks to Maria Luisa Fantoni, Maria Rosa Allegra, and Roberta Serio — the Chamber’s extraordinary staff — whose tireless dedication and quiet excellence form the foundation of all that we accomplish. In more recent times, we have also been fortunate to benefit from the insight and energy of Gianni Iaia, whose contribution has already made a meaningful impact.
As I prepare to pass on the baton, I do so with full confidence in the Chamber’s future. Its greatest strength lies in its people — in your ideas, your drive, and your shared commitment to progress. I remain a devoted friend and steadfast supporter of this remarkable institution, and I look forward to witnessing its continued growth and evolving influence in the years to come.
Thank you for the privilege of serving as your President. It has been both a responsibility and a joy.
