Celebrate International Women’s Day 2022 and #ChamberWomen with BCC Director General, Shevaun Haviland in conversation with BCC President, Baroness Ruby McGregor-Smith CBE.
Ruby McGregor-Smith CBE has served on the Board and as President of British Chambers of Commerce since 2020.
Other current Board roles include Chair of MindGym, Chair of the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education, Non-Executive Chair of the Airport Operators Association, Independent Non-Executive Director of Tideway London, and Patron of the Employers Network for Equality and Inclusion.
Ruby’s distinguished career has seen her as one of a small number of female CEOs in the FTSE 250, having spent fourteen years at Mitie Group PLC and as its CEO for ten years.
Ruby was appointed CBE in 2011 for services to business and to diversity in business and became a life peer in 2015.
A huge advocate for the power of diversity in leadership and in boardrooms, we look forward to hearing more about:
- Her personal experience as she progressed through her career.
- Her thoughts on the need for systemic change for now and for future generations, and,
- What practical steps businesses need to take to instil a gender equal culture and environment in business.
