Johnston Fine Wines is an exclusive wine importer and distributor based in Verona and founded by Joseph Johnston, a British expat with 15 years of experience in the wine trade as Export Manager for a portfolio of high-profile wine producers. The company is specialised in quality wines from France and Italy, but is also the exclusive importer for Sugrue South Downs, widely celebrated as the UK’s top boutique sparkling wine producer.
Joseph first caught the “wine bug” with a bottle of Burgundy (Chambolle-Musigny to be precise!), and his selection naturally covers a number of wines from this area, but the portfolio also comprises a wide range of boutique producers from other famous areas such as Champagne, Bordeaux, and of course Italian Tuscany, Piedmont.
The brands represented include such prestigious names as: Domaine Geantet-Pansiot (Gevrey-Chambertin), Domaine Cyrot-Buthiau (Pommard), Champagne Le Gallais (Boursault), Livia Fontana (Piedmont), and Tenuta Licinia (Tuscany).
Johnston Fine Wines distributes to restaurants, hotels and wine shops across Italy via its own temperature-controlled tax warehouse in Verona, and also provides an e-commerce platform for the final consumer. This “direct to market” model allows for an efficient, competitive and personalised service. The company also offers bespoke solutions for corporate gifts and for wine collectors.
