Inaugurated in 1998 as a joint venture with Tetra Pak, whose global research and development unit is located in Modena, ISM is now a proud member of Inspired which is the fastest growing premium international schools’ group operating on 5 continents and educating over 47.000 students globally. We are a truly international school representing approximately 30 different nationalities and offering the full continuum of International Baccalaureate (IB) education, with the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for children ages 3 - 11, Middle Years Programme (MYP) for ages 11-16 and the Diploma Programme (DP) for 16-18 years. ISM is one of only a handful of schools in Italy currently authorised to offer this programme which will thoroughly prepare your child for study all around the world, including at some of the world’s leading universities.
In September 2019 the school opened its first class for 2-year olds, further extending our innovative Early Years department which features beautiful spaces and play structures specially designed to support the delivery of the IB PYP and Reggio-Inspired Early Years Curriculum.
The curriculum at ISM is carefully designed to reflect the ethos of the school and of the International Baccalaureate with a commitment to inquiry-based learning, encouraging every student to ask questions, to think for themselves and develop the skills to become confident, independent learners who will grow up to be balanced, caring and principled citizens. Our dedicated, international teaching body ensures that students achieve highly at the school. We believe in challenging young minds, ensuring that our focus is on every student achieving beyond expectations both inside and outside of the curriculum. Over the last three years, we have achieved an average of 35 in the IBDP with a top score of 45.

At ISMonza, a full International Baccalaureate (IB) continuum school authorised to offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP), we endeavour to deliver the International Baccalaureate programmes in the purist of forms, with the school’s core values and the IB’s Learner Profile embodied in everything that we do. Both the school and the group to which it belongs, have an established record of success in the IB, from age 2 all the way through to admission to the world’s leading universities at age 18.
Perhaps most of note is the sense of collaboration that exists amongst all members of the school community. This is most evident in the way in which our highly qualified mother-tongue teachers and inquisitive students work towards a common goal of academic success which is seamlessly balanced with an inherent commitment to active global citizenship at every level. Although all classrooms are fitted with smart TVs and students bring tablets or laptops to school, we use technology in a blended approach where we feel it adds value to teaching and learning and not merely to replace traditional methods (yes, we do use books and, yes, we do talk to one another).
All this takes place in our city-centre campus – a stylish and colourful factory conversion – which has been specifically designed to foster collaborative approaches to teaching and learning. Our science laboratories are fitted with state-of-the-art equipment and we also boast carefully designed on-site spaces which support the delivery of our Reggio-Inspired Early Years Curriculum, three beautiful libraries, as well as studios for visual arts, drama and music, supported by a brand new sports complex. That said, living in such a culturally rich part of the world, we take many opportunities to knock down our classroom walls and learn from opportunities in the local and not-so-local area.

The International School of Siena opened in 2010 and has developed and grown considerably during the subsequent years. We are the only IB through school in Tuscany, fully authorised for the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP).

We have recently relocated to our stunning new school building where we enjoy a spacious, light, modern teaching spaces with a spacious indoor gym, Drama/Dance studio, 2 Libraries, Music and Art rooms and Science laboratories fitted out to the highest standards. Our Early Years spaces are specially designed to complement the Reggio Inspired teaching approach. Our Inspired approach to PYP Early Years also draws inspiration from Reggio Children.
Learning at the International School of Siena is an international experience with students from around 25 nationalities. TutorYou is a Tutoring and University Consulting company, established in 2014, in which students play the main role. TutorYou’s philosophy is based on ‘Students Helping Students’ as we strongly believe in ‘peer to peer’ relationships and communication. TutorYou started as a tutoring company for the International Baccalaureate, where recently graduated IB students tutor current students. This model quickly gained popularity as we match each of our top graduate tutors with the most appropriate student to provide unique, tailored educational support for every client. We currently have around 450 tutors, coming from top universities around the world and we offer year-round tutoring as well as revision courses, the main three being our Spring, Summer and Fall Revision Courses. We also work closely with Italian and International schools and in January 2017, we became a registered UCAS centre. Students looking to determine their further education pathway, work alongside our University Consultant to find the country, course and university most suited to their desires. We currently work with around 120 universities, the majority being from the UK. We promote the educational programs of our Partner Institutions organising Workshops as well as Mini University Fairs in Italian and International High Schools, which provide a great opportunity for students to meet both University representatives and our tutors.
